Casting Call for "Felt and Flesh" Romantic Drama Film
Felt and Flesh is a dark romantic drama that blends live-action with puppetry in a grounded, emotional world. The film explores identity, insecurity, love, and the lengths we go to become who we think someone else wants us to be. We are casting the lead role of Emmett for a 3rd year student short film production. As his desperation grows, he convinces himself that the only way to truly deserve Hanna is to become what he thinks she wants. This twisted belief ultimately drives him to kill her ex and attempt to fuse the ex’s human body with his own felt form, hoping that by merging felt with flesh he can finally be worthy of her love. Emmett is a puppet character (performed Sesame Street–style alongside three human actors). He is an ex-bartender and aspiring actor who is deeply insecure, though he does everything he can to hide it. He is charming, self-aware, and romantic , but beneath that is a fragile sense of self-worth. NOTE: For the role of Emmett, we will only need your voice but will have you on set for performance alongside the other actors.
