Description:

Casting voice talent for "The Hidden Realm", a new scripted podcast. Please find the details below. About the project: About the podcast: Written, produced, and directed by Peter Rouleau, The Hidden Realm is a political/historical thriller and an homage to vintage science fiction. The story focuses on the creator and cast of a sci-fi anthology radio show, also called The Hidden Realm. Set primarily in 1950-51 New York against the backdrop of McCarthyism, the Hollywood Blacklist, the arrest of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg on espionage charges, and the onset of the Korean War, the program explores the lives of the cast members as their past associations lead to their becoming ensnared in a web of political persecution. Each episode of the podcast will feature a “show within a show,” an episode of the radio program, which will allegorically dramatize the social issues of the time and the experiences of the characters. This series contains strong dramatic themes, including political persecution, war trauma, racism, reproductive rights, and moral conflict. Performers should be comfortable engaging with emotionally complex material. Rate: $125 per episode, paid electronically at the end of each production week, for a total of $1000. The program will be shared on all major podcast platforms and YouTube. Additional info: Previous voice acting experience is welcome but not required. BIPOC are encouraged to audition. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Production: There will be eight episodes in total. Production will run from Monday, April 6, 2026, through Saturday, May 30, 202,6 with the following schedule: rehearsals on Monday and Thursday nights, 7-9 pm, episodes recorded Saturday afternoons, 2-5 pm. The podcast will be recorded remotely; cast members will be required to have access to a quiet, undisturbed place to record lines. A quality USB/XLR microphone is recommended.
