About the project: Abrams Spotlight Productions is gearing up for auditions for 1776 the Musical, a bold, witty, and powerful musical that brings the signing of the Declaration of Independence to life. With sharp dialogue, rousing music, and moments of humor and heart, 1776 follows the debates, compromises, and larger-than-life personalities of America’s founding fathers as they struggle to unite thirteen colonies into one nation. Additional info: Those auditioning should prepare 24–32 bars of a song from a musical (not from 1776) You may be asked to read from the script. The show will be presented as written, however all genders and races will be considered for every role. Rehearsals: Rehearsals will begin the first week of March (date to come) Rehearsal dates and times will be scheduled around availability, however typical rehearsals will be: Sundays 5 pm-8 pm, Tuesdays 6 pm-8 pm and Thursdays 6 pm-8 pm There will be a Tech Week of rehearsal,s May 3-6. These rehearsals will be mandatory.
