About the project: "Shrek: The Musical" opens Grandstreet Theatre’s 51st Season with a bold, joyful, and laugh-out-loud production full of heart and unforgettable music. Packed with dazzling dance numbers and a powerful message about embracing who you truly are, this production celebrates individuality, belonging, and community—both onstage and off. The creative team includes Director Dean Marino, Choreographer Colby Hamann, and Music Director Liz Adler. Rate: $500 per week Additional info: Location: Helena, MT Rehearsals: June 18 – July 9 Performances: July 10 – August 2, 2026 (Tuesday–Sunday; two shows Saturdays and Sundays, except Symphony Under the Stars weekend) Other details: Open to local talent, conservatory students, and performers nationwide Professional artists cast will also teach in Grandstreet’s Summer Camp Program (July 13–24 or July 27–31) Rehearsals may occur during the day and/or evening Volunteer actors in small roles rehearse evenings and weekends only No rehearsals late afternoon/evening July 3 & 4; no rehearsal morning of July 5 (resumes that evening) If interested, follow the audition requirements: 16–32 bar cut of a song in the style of the show (singing from the show is welcome) Online submissions must include a dance reel Callback information will be provided after initial auditions
