Seeing The Killer on the roof is a release valve. All the compounding pressures of existence are alleviated and, for a moment, she can just be.
Composed. Focused. Intense yet dulled. His work is where he finds the only peace he knows. Usefulness as a substitution for happiness. While The Jumper is obsessed with her own internality, The Killer rejects his. After being interrupted by The Jumper, suddenly his violent assertion of control over his life and others’ is laid bare as pathetic. Without that, what does he have?
