About the project: The film follows a boy who visits his grandparents for a summer trip and his realization that time has set in for his family. The people he loves and the places he remembers are not quiet the same. Logline: A young boy's dream vacation at his grandparents' house in the summer of 2010, takes an unexpected turn as he realizes his grandmother's health is deteriorating and his grandfather's attention is consumed by her care, forcing him to confront the bittersweet truth that childhood summers will never be the same. Lead: A stoic and stubborn man, that has a soft spot for Marcus his grandson. He is very protective of those close to him, sometimes to a fault. Catherine is his high school sweetheart and is now trying to take care of her when she is struggling. He wants to shield the boy from the reality his grandma's struggle but has a difficult time balancing the two.
Lead: Gentle, kind and caring, the perfect antidote to Frank's cold exterior. As aging begins to settle, her cognitive and physical abilities are beginning to slow. It is difficult for her to process these changes but she always puts on a smile. She is an avid music fan and used to teach piano. She loves to play for Marcus, showing him music that she used to love when she was young.
