About the project: A manananggal queer couple flees a calamity-stricken Philippines and starts a new life in the Pacific Northwest, but one of them still adjusting into their new form finds their torso missing in the unfamiliar landscape. Recently transformed into a manananggal through their partner, Rosing, Yolanda is still navigating what it means to exist as one. In Canada, their hunger, moods, and instincts begin to shift.
Filipino. Femme-presenting. Open to non-binary, gender-nonconforming, and trans actors. Fluency in Tagalog or other Filipino regional languages/dialects is preferred. She works in the healthcare sector at an abortion clinic in a small town in BC. As a teen, she was turned into a manananggal by a doctor who saved her life after the loss of her premature baby.

Sitka becomes Rosing’s supervisor in a small clinic in rural BC. They are accomplished and worked as a doctor. Trustworthy and offered a place of support when Rosing is in a dire situation to find a way to survive in Canada.
