Immature and borderline psychotic. A perfect representation of the negative effects of sipping too much potion and being locked up at a young age. A satirical representation of real world effects from juvenile detention centers taking hold of black youth within the United States. Dumbie represents a twisted side of wizard culture and a path Virgil could follow if he doesn’t triumph against the oppression of his community.
A true yw or Young Wiza. Unable to afford the tuition at Camelot University, he had nowhere else to turn than to take his spell casting skills to the covens in his community. Sympathetic to his best friend Killa Fables, who can’t cast spells, Ice Pot is a wizard with a good heart who must act hard to survive the nature of his lifestyle. Think Ice Cube from "Straight Outta Compton", combined with Ice Cube from "Friday".
Reckless and troubled, Killa is the only one in the coven with no mana, no motion, and no witches. Killa became friends with Ice Pot in their later years at the Academy. Now addicted to sipping potion and imitating the wizard culture around him, he wants nothing more than to be a real Wiza. This is what led him to follow Ice Pot to the coven, The Wands. Think White Boy Carl from "Shameless", combined with Cheddar Bob from "8 Mile".
The antagonist to our story and the deadliest Wiza with a hood. The one who killed Opal and who Virgil must face at the end of this journey. The Prophet has been corrupted by the worst oppression the Wizard Community faces. Prophet and Caste founded The Wands, a coven trying to control the potion trade in the Southside of Camelot. While trying to create a profit in the lower class community where Wizards were forced to live after the dark ages, Prophet originally fought for a noble cause.
An academy drop out Wiza who is living in trot houses around Southside Camelot. One of Virgil’s closest friends but leeches off Virgil due to his coven affiliations. Lazy and immature, Opal dies doing what he loved, sipping potions and chilling in his PJ’s. Think Ice Cube from "Friday".
Additional Character. 2 African-American Young Wizards who toss an array of insults and jokes at Virgil throughout the journey.
