CASTING CALL Casting for a Capilano University short film,"Blank Canvas." Union/Non-Union all welcome! Narrative short about a daughter seeking for independence and a father concealing his grief are forced to confront the distance between them after she discovers his forgotten photographs. We are searching for the role of the father, Henry. His role requires strong dramatic ability, emotional restraint, and comfort with layered dialogue. Henry is a withdrawn, emotionally sensitive man living with depression following the death of his wife. He speaks little, but carries deep internal conflict. In the emotional climax of the film, he confronts both himself and his daughter through a long, dialogue-driven scene. This moment becomes a turning point, allowing him to rediscover a sense of purpose and the life he once had before grief took over.
