Lincoln, NE, United States
ID: 302041Exp: 3/27/2026
Description:

Casting actors for the "Chicago" show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Full of razzle dazzle, this award-winning musical is an exciting tale of greed, show business, murder and all that jazz. Set in the 1920’s, two of the Cook County Jail’s most notorious murderesses become fierce rivals as they compete for headlines and the skills of a sleek lawyer. Filled with one show stopping number after another with music and timeless lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb, and an utterly engaging book by Kander and Bob Fosse, Chicago is a must-see musical spectacular. Additional info: SUNDAY MARCH 29: Callbacks 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM Prepare a song no longer than 2 minutes in length that best showcases your vocal ability. An accompanist will be provided. (No acapella auditions or pre-recorded tracks please). You may be asked to do a cold reading from the script. Following Phase One, those auditioning will be shown a simple dance from the choreographer to learn. Please bring shoes that you can move in such as dance shoes or tennis shoes. Also please wear clothing that does not restrict your movement and wear it for Phase 1 as well, so you don’t have to spend time changing between Phase 1 & 2. Directors understand that not everyone is a polished dancer, and that’s perfectly fine. This just gives us an idea on how you move. By no means should it prevent you from auditioning. If you are interested in a role that does not consist of dancing you may opt out of Phase Two. Please arrive to the theatre lobby 10 minutes before your audition time. If you need to cancel please do so within 24 hours ahead of time. REHEARSALS: They will begin approx. the week of April 26th. Most rehearsals take place M-F (6:30 pm – 10:00 pm and Sunday’s after 1:00 pm). All actors will not be called every day early in the process. Everyone cast will be given a rehearsal calendar of the entire process that lists when you are called for. TADA manages time wisely and knows that your time is valuable. Some conflicts can be worked around. Please list them clearly on your audition form. PRODUCTION DATES: June 12-28 (Thursday-Saturday 7:30 pm / Sunday 2:00 pm) Note: If the show run sells out performances may be added. When applying, please download the audition sheet, fill it out, and make sure to include if you prefer to be in Group 1, 2, or 3, and then email it and a photo of yourself.
