Audition for Student Film "Mom's Homemade Cake"

Lisa is a cook show star, who has had to keep the secrets of not only her troublesome upbringing, but also the pill addiction her producer forced her into. She tries to put on a happy front, but the dessert she's making one fateful day hits too close to home and causes her to snap. She's tired, fed up, and enraged once she realizes the toll her situation has taken on her. This role requires a WIDE range of emotional capability, and is dialogue heavy!

The Antagonist. A grisly, narcissistic boss to Lisa, whose job is to keep Lisa in control to keep up the facade of the "Happy" cooking show. When he fears he has lost control, he uses her weaknesses of a bad home life against her to keep her compliant to taking mood enhancing pills. This role has a large monologue, and covers mature topics, so a serious actor is required. The role has a sarcastic nature so the character cannot be monotone, there is a sick charm to him.
