"The Sound of Music" Musical Casting Actors

"The Sound of Music" musical needs cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the details below. Additional info: This beloved production features approximately 26 roles. Not all adult roles require singing. You will have the option to only audition for a non singing role. Audition Requirements: Auditions will include both singing and acting. - Singing Audition: Prepare 16–20 measures of a song. From a musical or even the National Anthem (generally, you don’t sing a selection from the show you are auditioning for. Some suggestions that have a similar style to show would be Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, or The King and I, Annie or Oliver!). Sung a cappella. No sheet music required. Music auditions will be one-on-one. - Acting Audition: No preparation required. Sides and materials will be provided at auditions. If you are interested in a principal (main) role, please keep the following date available: Callbacks: Monday, February 9 at 6:30 PM. Not all roles will require callbacks, but this date is essential to keep open if you would like to be considered for a larger role. You will be notified if the director needs to see you again for a callback. Decisions will be made by 2/13/26. Rehearsal Schedule & Commitment: Rehearsals will begin in February with once a week rehearsals. Rehearsals will ramp up in May and rehearsals will be held weekly on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. This, of course, may change. Attendance is critical. If you are unavailable for rehearsals during this time frame—especially throughout the summer production months—please reconsider auditioning, as full attendance is required.
