"Run With Me" - True Crime Short Film
Currently casting for RUN WITH ME, a true crime inspired psychological thriller short film being produced as a SAIT Capstone project. RUN WITH ME follows a disciplined teenage track star whose perfect routine hides something far darker. When an obsession spirals, it leads to murder and the slow unraveling of a carefully constructed identity. We are casting multiple roles, including a female lead, supporting female roles, and supporting male roles. Filming will take place in Calgary during the last week of February (estimated 5 days of filming, with an additional reshoot day if needed). This is a non-union, unpaid student production. Meals will be provided, along with IMDb credit and professional reel footage. Please see the attached slides for full role breakdowns.

Natasha is a disciplined teenage track star who has perfected the appearance of flawlessness. Her life runs on strict routine and control, which she believes keeps her safe. Beneath her polished exterior is emotional detachment and a capacity for violence she carefully suppresses. Killing gives her a sense of feeling she otherwise lacks. She is calm, precise, and unsettling in her restraint.
Emily is Natasha’s best friend and teammate, warm, intelligent, and emotionally present. She is genuine in a way Natasha only imitates. Loyal and perceptive, Emily notices inconsistencies others ignore and believes in confronting truth with care. Her refusal to look away places her in direct conflict with Natasha.
Nadia is the new girl, initially perceived as dark and withdrawn due to her gothic appearance. In reality, she is soft-spoken, awkward, and kind. Her aesthetic is a form of armor, protecting her vulnerability. Nadia’s sincerity and gentleness shatter Natasha’s expectations and become a dangerous mirror.
Ryan is Natasha’s boyfriend, popular, athletic, and emotionally shallow. He is socially safe and comfortably mediocre, existing more as an accessory to Natasha’s image than a true partner. Oblivious to deeper emotional dynamics, Ryan reinforces the illusion of normalcy Natasha relies on.
The Homeless Man lives in the woods along Natasha’s running trail, a quiet observer on the margins of her world. Weathered and guarded, he watches without intervening. His presence suggests that some truths cannot be buried, and that someone always sees what others choose to ignore.
Background characters populate the school and community surrounding Natasha’s world. They include students, athletes, teachers, and staff who move through hallways, classrooms, and outdoor spaces. Their presence establishes routine, social hierarchy, and constant observation. These characters do not drive the story but reinforce the illusion of normalcy and the pressure to perform within it.
