About the project: What if The Beatles were socially inept or The Monkees were morally corrupt? You get Standing On Shoulders! This project is an original musical comedy project that mixes narrative storytelling with humorous songs, performed by a recurring ensemble. Rate: Non-Union. Credit & Footage Provided. Additional information: Seeking three actor-singers to complete the four-person performance group. This particular project is acting-first. Actors should have strong comedic instincts and solid singing abilities. Instrumental ability is seen as a plus but not required. The music itself is created in collaboration with talented musicians from Vancouver and abroad. While this project is ongoing, it is not a full-time commitment. Scheduling is flexible and performers will have plenty of time for other acting opportunities. This is a collaborative, passion-driven project designed to grow over time. In 2026, directors will be creating a few musical comedy videos. The long-term ambition with this project is to make albums or features starring the band. This is a recurring project for actors interested in returning to the same project over time. When applying, please submit a head shot, a resume (if available), and two short videos (30-60 seconds each): 1) Singing sample 2) Acting sample for the role you're submitting for. It can be a brief monologue, a conversation with your friend, a self-written bit, etc. Also, please include a brief message in the email explaining why you feel you’re right for the project and what interests you about it.
