About the project: A South Asian short film exploring womanhood, devotion, and desire. Set against the intimacy of a wedding, Jhoom blends ritual, emotion, and the unseen. As her Mehndi Deepens, a bride encounters marked spirits that blur te line between devotion and desire-twisting celebration into dread, pulling her toward a truth se can no longer ignore. Additional information: South Asian actors (preference for Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi, or related diasporic identities) fluency in Hindi/Urdu is required. Shoot Dates: Feb 7–9, 2026. SAFA -SUPPORTING LEAD. South Asian. Zoya's closest friend-warm, artistic, intuitive. Safa embodies softness and emotional safety. Light dance background preferred. Must be comfortable with intimate emotional scenes (no nudity). Preferred: A real henna/mehndi artist, or strong familiarity with henna design. Urdu/Hindi comprehension is strongly preferred.
SUPPORTING. South Asian. Zoya's mother-traditional, sharp-tongued, humorous, deeply loving. A woman shaped by duty and sacrifice. Ability to hum or sing softly (simple melody; not professional-level). Urdu/Hindi comprehension is strongly preferred.

ENSEMBLE CHARACTERS. Dual-role ensemble - same actors play both. This group appears twice: As the women singing, teasing, dancing, and surrounding Zoya in the mehndi scene. As the supernatural Spirit Women in white saris who haunt, seduce, and taunt. Strong dance/movement background REQUIRED contemporary, classical South Asian styles, or experimental movement welcome. Will appear in group choreography and movement-driven sequences.
