About the project: Is a narrative, historical drama, short film set in Heart Mountain incarceration camp in 1944. It is inspired by the director’s paternal grandfather and the draft resistance in which 85 internees refused to show up to their physical inductions as a protest against being drafted when their own constitutional rights had been revoked. Japanese American, speaks with an American accent, stoic, stubborn, loyal. Incarcerated at Heart Mountain internment camp during WWII. Although the teaser will not go into depth about the story, it may be helpful to know that Peter is loyal to his country and attends his physical induction when drafted. But when he learns that his best friend in camp has chosen not to show up to his own physical in protest of the draft, Peter begins to have second thoughts about where his loyalty lies.
