About the project: When Kieran is put face-to-face with his nine-year-old self in his childhood bedroom, he must navigate reconciling the eighteen years between them to fill a hole in his exhausted heart. While Little Kieran has so many questions about the future, Big Kieran learns how different his life has become and how much they have to teach each other. After their mom comes home, the two escape to their snowy suburban neighbourhood to talk in private. Will Big Kieran find what he needs in his past to mend his present? Rate: Non union. After moving from his hometown in rural BC to pursue a career as a tattoo artist in Montreal, Big Kieran is now alone and unfulfilled, doling out cheap tattoos in basement punk shows. He hasn’t come home for Christmas in almost a decade and has severed himself from his only family member: his mom.
A loving, single mother who's keeping it together the best she can. Spending all her energy either providing for or caring for her son, all while hiding from him the shoestring budget she does it on, one wouldn't blame her for lighting up a few cigarettes and displaying some road rage on the way home from a double shift.
