Bobby is the uncle of our protagonist Beverly. While his sister Margaret moved to Canada with Bev, Bobby stayed in Indiana to be close to their elderly mother. He is narcissistic and controlling, very critical of Margaret’s choice to move away.
Gloria is our protagonist’s grandmother, and her death serves as the catalyst for the film. Bev only met Gloria a few times while she was battling dementia and living in a care home. A key scene features Gloria suffering through an episode of dementia in the presence of Bev.
