"Hairspray" the musical needs dancers who sing. Please see the details below. About the project: SYNOPSIS: The 1950s are out, and change is in the air! Hairspray, winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, is a family-friendly musical, piled bouffant-high with laughter, romance and deliriously tuneful songs. It's 1962 in Baltimore, and the lovable teen, Tracy Turnblad, has only one desire – to dance on the popular "Corny Collins Show." When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star. She must use her newfound power to dethrone the reigning Teen Queen, win the affections of heartthrob, Link Larkin, and integrate a TV network... all without denting her 'do! Rate: CONTRACT AT FULTON THEATRE Non-Union Rate: $750.00 weekly. CONTRACT AT MAINE STATE MUSIC THEATRE Non-Union Rate: $872.00 weekly, plus housing and travel stipend. This is a Non-Equity LOA. Additional info: Note: This show is a co-production. Looking to cast people available for both productions. Auditions: 10:00 am: female identifying dancers who sing. 2:00 pm: male identifying dancers who sing. 6:00 pm – end of call. Please attend the audition that most closely aligns with your gender identity. Please arrive early to sign in. Times subject to change. Sign-ups for non-equity will only be official on the Jamibeth Margolis Casting sheet and sign in. These are the only ones valid. Casting team will arrive at 9 AM. What to Prepare/Bring: HEADSHOT & RESUME: please bring 2 H/R’s, stapled back-to-back. Include your height. DANCERS: You will be learning a jazz combination and possibly a tap combination as well. Please be prepared and warmed up prior to the audition. Bring appropriate dance clothes and shoes. Jazz and tap shoes. Some dancers may be asked to stay and sing. Please prepare 16 bars in the style of HAIRSPRAY. Songs from the show are welcome but not required. Bring sheet music in the correct key. Accompanist provided. Callback Dates: January 9, 2026 in NYC. Fulton Theatre Rehearsals begin March 19; runs April 10 to May 3 in Lancaster, PA. Maine State Music Theatre Rehearsals begin on May 29; runs June 3 to June 20 in Brunswick, ME. Female Presenting. The Dynamites consist of Judine, Kamilah and Shayna. The Dynamites are a talented vocal trio who are featured in many numbers and usually in tight harmony. VOCAL RANGE: Soprano, Mezzo and Alto With Strong High Belt.
