About the project: On her 21st birthday, a daughter goes to a bar with her mom to celebrate. What should be a joyful milestone turns tense when the daughter pushes her mom to open up. Twenty-first is a 5-minute short film about love, loss, and the painful truths that change how we see the people closest to us. Rate: Non-Union/Non-Paid. Lead Role She's caught between remembering who her mother was and realizing who she's become. She's growing up, moving on, but hasn't found closure - she's trying to love her mom without needing her.
Lead Role She carries her own grief quietly. She knows the distance but doesn't know how to bridge it. Life and exhaustion have taught her silence - she protects herself with normalcy.
Supporting Role A bartender in his 30s works quietly behind the counter. He's calm, observant - the type who notices things without staring. Every now and then, he glances over at the mother and daughter. He can feel the tension between them, even from across the bar.
