Talent needed for "Prince of Egypt: The Musical". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: The moving and epic tale of two brothers that will change the world, based on the beloved, Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film. Journey through the wonders of Ancient Egypt as Ramses and Moses, two young men raised together as brothers in a kingdom of privilege, find themselves suddenly divided by a secret past. One must rule as Pharaoh, the other must rise up and free his true people; both face a destiny that will change history forever. Additional info: Please Bring: -Photo/Headshot -Resume or List of previous shows (if applicable). -List of schedule conflicts between January 2 and March 7 (no tech week or show conflicts will be accepted). -Prepare approximately 30 seconds to one minute of a song in the style of the show (please do not prepare a song from the show). -Bring a karaoke track. -A Bluetooth-enabled speaker is provided. -Shoes and clothes appropriate for a short dance audition (dance will be taught). Moses’ birth mother. A presence of hope throughout the show, she features in the opening number. Strong alto with belt. Sings in English and Hebrew (G3 – E5)
Moses’ adoptive mother. Regal, wise, and devoted to her family. Vibrant and playful before the death of her husband, then distraught and distant once Moses returns to Egypt. Strong actress. Alto. (G3 – E5)
The savior of the Hebrews. Begins the show as a privileged prince and a clown. After discovering his true heritage, Moses struggles with his identity. He is called by God to lead the Hebrews out of slavery and while at first he is unsure, he grows into a strong leader. Strong actor and singer. Tenor. (Bb2 – A4)
The future Pharaoh. Has a great love for his adopted brother Moses but a greater fear of disappointing his father. His desire to keep his dynasty strong causes him to turn against Moses when he returns to Egypt to free his people. Strong actor and singer. Baritone with range (Bb2 – A4)
The Egyptian High Priest. Pompous and self-important. Deeply devoted to the Pharaoh and the gods. A firm believer in the old ways, he looks down on the playful Moses. Baritone (G#2- F4)
The powerful Pharaoh. Commanding, authoritative, and dignified. A great and feared general, he wants his dynasty to last long. He loves his sons but loves his country more. Baritone/Bass. (B2-E4)
Ramses’s betrothed. A haughty social climber from a fallen dynasty. Self-confident and strong but secretly longs for love. Deeply emotional after the death of her son. Alto. (B3-D5)
The Midian Princess. Rebellious and fiery but with a softer side for those she loves. She develops feelings for Moses and later becomes his wife and strongest supporter. Strong dancer with strong belt. Mezzo-Soprano. (Ab3- E5)
Moses’ sister. The personification of hope, she firmly believes God will free her people. She believes in Moses when no one else does. Strong singer with belt. (G3 – Eb5)
Moses’ brother. Sardonic and skeptical, Aaron wants to believe Moses will help them but struggles. Eventually becomes Moses’s most loyal follower. (B2 – G4)
Tzipporah’s sister.
The High Priest of Midian and Tzipporah’s father. A powerful and warm presence, he exudes joy and life. Full of love, hope, and devotion. Baritone (A2 – G4)
