Possibly Italian. Personality: self involved, argumentative, set in his ways, oafish. Backstory summary: Instead of mourning at his daughter’s funeral— he spends his time wondering if he’s got his moneys worth to chagrin of his grieving wife. Style: suit wearer. Additional notes: It’s important that the character doesn’t come off as callous but more so comedically one track minded. He’s not intentionally a dick, he just kind of comes off that way. Role type: guest star.
Possibly Italian. Personality: frustrated, fed up. Backstory summary: Lyndsey spends her time fighting with her husband at her daughter’s funeral due to his penny pitching ways and making a scene at the service. Additional notes: She’s not argumentative, she’s just fed up with her husband’s bullshit. Role type: guest star.
Personality: Mean spirited, a little bit of a bully. Always either apathetic or annoyed. Summary: Hayley is a bar tender that scares a lot of the customers. Everyone seems to have a crush on her until they get to know her. Style: Gothic. Darker make up, black lipstick, choker— etc. Additional notes: Just remember this is all played for laughs. They’re either supposed to be laughing with or at the character in every scene. Role type: reoccurring.
Personality: Fun, charming, welcoming, inviting. Backstory Summary: Aaron is one of Vinny (lead)’s friends from high school whom he links up with later in life. He and his gf Amanda slowly and subtly try to rope him into a threesome. Style: nondescript. Additional Notes: Aaron is a likable guy— the audience has to want to see Vinny and Aaron bond before learning of the character’s ulterior motives. Role Type: Guest Star.
Supporting. French. Personality: Self involved/centered, stubborn, set in her ways, pompous, pretentious. But also can be fun— she loves hosting events & being the life of the party. Backstory Summary: Lucy is the attention driven wife of J.R (lead). Style: Very ‘glamorous’. Notes: Lucy has a lot of negative qualities and there will be scenes are episodes that showcase her in a negative light, but directors don’t want her to come off as a total caricature. She does have good qualities.
Chill, laid back. Charlie is a trans man that used to have a relationship with (lead) J.R. Laid back, total “bro” Backward cap, flannel shirt, mjolnir necklace. Notes: It’s important that directors cast an actual trans actor. They don’t want to misrepresent anybody & quite frankly casting anyone who doesn’t have that experience feels insulting. The fact that the character is trans isn’t the punchline— the joke is the misconceptions the ill informed have on trans people. Role Type: Guest Star.
Personality: Greg is a loud guy who doesn’t think before he speaks. He can be pretty clueless for the most part. Backstory Summary: Greg is one of the many attendees at Phil’s community orgy. He doesn’t have a large role to play— but he does make his few scenes memorable with his nature. Style: Hawaiian shirt, straw hat— looks like he’s always on vacation. Role Type: Guest Star.
Personality: Patient but annoyed. Backstory Summary: Guy is a gay man who is forced to explain the intricacies of the gay community to our clueless straight leads to his greatest dismay. Additional Notes: It’s important that we cast an actual gay actor for this part— again the joke isn’t on the gay community, it’s on the misconceptions of it. Role Type: Guest Star.
Personality: A disorderly unruly patient. Role Type: Guest Star.
