About the project: Ten amateur bakers from around Canada compete against one another in a series of challenges over eight weeks. "Ducking in from the cold, bakers arrived for auditions at a downtown hotel with armloads of cupcakes, custards, cookies, macaroons, biscuits, pies and a fascinating array of colourful cakes of almost every flavour. Bakers were invited to bring one signature baked item to the event for a morning of baking show fun, alumni visits and tasting – and vie for a spot to bake this summer on The Great Canadian Baking Show".
