Antagonist: A Puerto Rican with the look and flair of a Goodfella. He’s Matthew’s adopted son. Matthew saved him from an abusive father when he was 13. He has a strong outward demeanor but he is damaged. Matthew always comes to his rescue even to the detriment of him and his family, including Thomas, Matthew's biological son. Matthew bonds with him because he has first-hand knowledge from his own childhood of fatherly beatings.

A dark-skinned beauty, has a rock on her left hand. She sets drinks on the table. She loves Jose for who he is, flaws and all.

Is a buttoned up, younger version of Matthew. He is college educated and is the opposite of Matthew’s blue collar background. He’s Matthew’s only son. He and Matthew are always at odds, especially over Jose, who he despises for everything including how Matthew is closer to him. Thomas belives Jose takes away from him and causes problems with the family since Matthew took him in.

Is a rare beauty, reminiscent of a Greek goddess. She is very forgiving of Matthew and Jose because she knows their background and accepts them for who they are. She is a loving mother to Peter and wife to Thomas but tends to smother Peter, her only son. She is a business owner and strong woman for herself and her family but sometimes she would just like to breakdown.
