Hairspray, winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, is a family-friendly musical, piled bouffant-high with laughter, romance and deliriously tuneful songs. It's 1962 in Baltimore, and the lovable plus-size teen, Tracy Turnblad, has only one desire – to dance on the popular "Corny Collins Show." When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star. She must use her newfound power to dethrone the reigning Teen Queen, win the affections of heartthrob, Link Larkin, and integrate a TV network... all without denting her 'do! Rate: Non paid. Additional info: Directors ask that you come to auditions with a song that best shows off your vocals range. They ask that YOU DO NOT sing from the show! There will be an accompanist available for auditions, if you do not have sheet music, you can sing from a karaoke track, they will have a blue-tooth device available for you. PLEASE DO NOT SING ACAPPELLA! Callbacks will be on January 4th starting at 4:00 PM (invitation only). Rehearsal schedule will be as follows: Monday-Thursdays 6:30-9:30 PM @ Sundays 3:00-7:00 PM.
