Upcoming auditions for Disney’s "Newsies". Seeking cast. Please see the details below. About the project: Set in turn-of-the century New York City, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged "newsies." When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what's right! Additional info: A large, energetic cast of diverse performers of all ages, genders and ethnicities is needed. Gender blind casting is possible for Newsie roles but performers must portray the written gender of the character. Auditioners are asked to bring a musical theatre song with sheet music, maximum cut of 32 bars. You can also choose to sing from the Newsies score. No tracks or a capella auditions. There will be a Dance Audition for the Newsie roles. You may also be asked to read from the Script. Casting will be in mid October in order to set up Dance Workshops in November/December. These will involve learning the intense choreography required for the show. Main rehearsals are January/February. Performances for 3 weekends: February 12 th to March 1 st, 2026.
