About the project: In the fall of 1955, a grieving couple go into the Alberta wilderness to scatter the wife's father's ashes. When they are separated, the husband is left to face the forest, and himself, alone. "Devour" is a short period film set in 1955. It's a psychological survival story about love, grief, and isolation, shot on location in the Alberta wilderness. Rate: Non-Union. Unpaid. Food and Drink Provided. Masculine presenting. A veteran who now teaches art. He loves his wife but struggles with grief and survivor's guilt. Needs someone comfortable showing both quiet emotion and moments of breaking down.
Feminine presenting. A teacher with a stubborn, independent streak. She loves the outdoors, carries her own grief from family losses. Strong and warm but with a heavy sadness under the surface.
