Coffee, Conversation, and Care
Coffee, Conversation, and Care is a 10-minute educational short film focused on women’s health and community empowerment. It's purpose is to increase awareness of the benefits of breast cancer screening among the central Texas population. Produced in collaboration with the University of Texas at Austin, this project will be a one-day (10-hour) commitment and is to be filmed in El Paso, Texas. Travel and lodging expenses will be reimbursed. The role of AISHA requires that the actor be of Middle-Eastern heritage, and MUST have a distinguishable Arabic-influenced accent. The film will be recorded in both English and Spanish. Actor will be paid $300 for the day per language spoken. Bilingual actors will be given selection priority. Character sides are attached for your audition. Please record one video file per spoken language.

A Middle-Eastern American business owner and mother, balancing work and family. Aisha understands the importance of breast cancer screening, but hesitates due to modesty concerns and a cultural reluctance to discuss women’s health issues openly. She strives to set a good example for her daughters. A follower by nature, Aisha is modest and timid, yet inquisitive and comfortable asking tough questions while among her friend group.
