"La Cage aux Folles" Show Casting Actors
Principal and ensemble auditions for production of "La Cage aux Folles". ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See more info below. About the project: Currently seeking a cast of story driven performers, who are comfortable walking/dancing (or learning how to walk/dance) in heels; strong movers and dancers, and ready to dress in drag. Rate: Please note, this is a nonprofit organization, all involvement with this production is on a volunteer basis, with a portion of proceeds going towards a local charity. Additional info: All performers must be local to Central Florida, as no housing will be provided for this production. All participants must be 18+ by July 21, 2025 to be considered for casting. In-person callbacks will be held (by invitation only) the evening of Friday, July 11. Rehearsals are expected to begin late-July, and will run up to 3 times per week in the evenings until we get closer to the show’s opening. Performance dates: September 19-21. A performer of star quality who becomes the fabulous Zaza onstage at the nightclub; great powerhouse of a Broadway voice; fine comic actor. Vocal range: Baritone. Intimacy: shares a kiss, holds hands, intimate moments with Georges.
Handsome; brunette; masculine, well-mannered, educated; desperately in love with his fiancée, Anne; must act, sing, and move well. Vocal range: Tenor. Intimacy: shares a kiss, holds hands, intimate moments with Anne – flirty moments with other Cagelles.
Sometimes the butler, sometimes the maid- great comic timing, personality and zest. Vocal range: Tenor.
Jean-Michel's fiancée; spunky; a superb dancer who acts well. Vocal range: Soprano. Intimacy: shares a kiss, holds hands, intimate moments with Jean-Michel.
Anne's father; right-wing radical politician; pompous; quirky; must sing, move well, and be a fine comedian with excellent timing. Vocal range: Baritone.
Anne's mother; shy, retiring, conservative, and rarely speaks her mind; great singer and character actress who moves well. Vocal range: Soprano.
Friend of Georges and Albin; owns a chic restaurant, charming; VERY theatrical. Vocal range: Alto.
