The project explores queer desire, repression, and cultural tradition through carefully composed imagery, atmosphere, and physical performance. This is a deeply personal project inspired by my roots and the quiet conflict between roots and rejection. Rate: Non-Union. While the project is unpaid, directors will provide meals on set, credit, and festival exposure. Additional information: AUDITION LOCATION Vancouver. SHOOT/PERFORMANCE DATE(S) Three day: 24.06-26.06. SHOOT/PERFORMANCE LOCATION(S) Vancouver. Please note that the film includes a hair-cutting scene, which will be performed on a wig, as well as a moment of dancing. There is also a more emotionally intimate scene between two main characters; there is no nudity and only subtly suggested physical intimacy. All on-set activities will be conducted with the utmost respect for actors’ comfort and safety. SUBMISSION DEADLINE June 19, 2025. When applying, please submit a head shot/photo and at least a sentence about why you're interested in being a part of the project. A video reel isn’t necessary, but is a great plus. Be sure to mention which role you’re interested in and directors will send adequate script sides.

She's an 18-year-old girl raised in a devout, closed-off community. You can call her obedient or passive, she moves through expectations—but beneath that stillness, something stirs. Her desire for Ann awakens not just romantic yearning, but a hunger to breathe outside the suffocating order she knows. Wanda’s rebellion isn’t loud—it’s tender, almost invisible, until it’s punished. She’s a character caught between conformism and longing, shaped by silence but undone by feeling.
Ann as a character embodies the seductive side of tradition — not the obedient one. The kind that awakens patriotism in your heart, not your mind. There’s something in the way she smiles that dares you to follow her. She makes freedom feel like a temptation. With her, tradition doesn’t pacify — it awakens. They see her as Ella Rumpf (Raw), who embodies a character that is alluring, enigmatic and rebellious.
Eva is the embodiment of the harsh side of Poland and tradition. She’s Wanda’s mother and a powerful figure in the community—stern, composed, and deeply committed to preserving its order. She’s not cruel for cruelty’s sake; she believes control is love, and purity is protection. To her, tradition is survival, and deviation is a threat that must be cut off before it spreads. She watches everything, including her daughter, with a heavy judgmental gaze.
A quiet, nurturing presence who braids hair of her daughter. A small, mostly background role. She moves quietly through the scenes adding to the everyday life of the community. A great chance to wear traditional costumes and be part of the film’s rich cultural atmosphere.
