Singers and Dancers Needed for "The Prom" Show
The company is holding auditions for "The Prom" show and looking for actors, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: Four eccentric Broadway stars are in desperate need of a new stage. So when they hear that trouble is brewing around a small-town prom, they know that it’s time to put a spotlight on the issue…and themselves. The town’s parents want to keep the high school dance on the straight and narrow—but when one student just wants to bring her girlfriend to prom, the entire town has a date with destiny. On a mission to transform lives, Broadway’s brassiest join forces with a courageous girl and the town’s citizens and the result is love that brings them all together. Winner of the Drama Desk Award for Best Musical, THE PROM expertly captures all the humor and heart of a classic musical comedy with a message that resonates with audiences now more than ever. About the project: Rehearsals will begin on Monday February 17 and run on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7-10pm and Sundays from 3-8 until April 23rd. Tech Week is from April 26-May 1st. Friday May 2nd is dark. All actors will be expected to attend rehearsals every night of tech week. Prepare 16 bars from a song either in the style of the show or something you are confident singing that shows off your voice. Please bring music in the proper key (no acapella and no requests for on the spot transpositions). Avoid songs from the show itself. There will be a dance call during each audition slot; please dress accordingly. Actors will be seen in groups of 8-10. An inability to attend callbacks may impact your ability to be cast in a named role. Please apply if interested.
