About the project: Set in the 1590s, Something Rotten! follows brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom, two struggling playwrights desperate to step out of the shadow of the Renaissance superstar, William Shakespeare. Their fortunes take a wild turn when a quirky soothsayer predicts that the future of theatre will combine singing, dancing, and acting all at once. Determined to make history, the Bottom Brothers set out to create the world’s first musical. But as opening night approaches, they discover that true success comes from staying true to themselves...and embracing the chaos along the way. Packed with show-stopping musical numbers and a hilariously eccentric cast of characters, Something Rotten! is a laugh-out-loud celebration of creativity, ambition, and the magic of theatre. Additional info: Audition Requirements: Prepare 1 minute of a musical piece that showcases your vocal range and talent. For named roles, please prepare a song from Something Rotten! that highlights the character you’re auditioning for. No dance audition required, but callbacks may include additional elements if needed. Callbacks: Scheduled for Monday, January 28 at 6:00 PM (as needed). Rehearsals: Begin as early as Thursday, January 30th. Typical schedule: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. However, Monday rehearsals may be added as needed, especially during the initial "Boot Camp" weeks. Please bring a list of all conflicts to auditions. Please apply if interested.
