About the project: Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney’s The Little Mermaid is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner, Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs, including “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl” and “Part of Your World.” Ariel, King Triton’s youngest daughter, wishes to pursue the Prince, Eric, in the world above, bargaining with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to trade her tail for legs. But the bargain is not what it seems, and Ariel needs the help of her colorful friends, Flounder, Scuttle, and Sebastian to restore order under the sea. Additional info: Calls for Callbacks will begin Saturday, 12/7, at 9 AM. Callbacks are on Saturday, 12/7, beginning at 12 PM. Only certain auditionees for specific roles will be called back. REHEARSALS: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6:30-9:30 PM and Sundays from 12:45-5 PM. You will likely not be needed for every rehearsal. A cast and crew meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 9th at 6:30 PM. Regular rehearsals begin on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 6:30 PM. SHOW WEEK (Sat, 4/5/25 thru Sun, 4/13/25): All cast members must attend technical rehearsal on 4/6, orchestra rehearsal on 4/7, two dress rehearsals on 4/8 & 4/9, all six (6) performances on 4/10-4/13, and strike after the 2nd show on 4/13. All cast members shall attend at least one warehouse cleanup (April 19, April 26, or May 3, 2025). The time commitment from 4/6-4/13, 2025, contains few very long days and/or nights.
