Outgoing, often abrasive, and somewhat mean-spirited toward Eli-specially making fun of his muteness. He's competitive with Ethan, and he gets frustrated quick-especially when things go wrong. Dylan's impatience and frustration make him a target for the strange forces at play.

The eldest brother, Ethan is more mature and protective but with a sardonic sense of humor. He sometimes tries to keep Dylan in check and can show some care for Eli, though he's mostly dismissive. When things don't go right, he takes charge and attempts to fix things, as with the power outage.

The youngest, quiet, mute, and observant, Eli often gets belittled or overlooked by his brothers. Despite that, he is quite close to them and curious about the mysterious box. Subsequently, the role of Eli in the movie changes as the events progress with the supernatural happenings; subtly insinuating a connection to the dark forces inside the house in the chilling scenes afterward.
