Seeking actors for "Waitress" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: SYNOPSIS: Waitress tells the story of Jenna, a waitress and expert pie maker stuck in a small town and a loveless marriage. When a baking contest in a nearby county offers her a chance at escape, Jenna fights to reclaim a long-forgotten part of herself. Through the support of her fellow waitresses and an unexpected romance, Jenna begins to find the courage to take a long-abandoned dream off the shelf. Waitress celebrates the power of friendship, dreams, the family we choose, and the beauty of a well-baked pie. Rate: LOA $816 weekly minimum (Ref. to LORT). Additional info: Please prepare a shortcut of a song from the show or in the style of the show that showcases your vocal range. In-person callbacks will be held in Austin on December 12th and in New York on December 16th. Rehearsals: May 16th, 2025; Opening: June 11th, 2025; Closing: July 13th, 2025. Performance schedule: planned six to seven shows per week: Tuesdays through Sundays at 7:30 pm and some Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 2:30 pm. To be considered, please apply.

Female identifying. Dawn is the youngest of the waitresses. Thick glasses, hair parted 14 centimeters to the left — eccentric is the nice way to say she’s slightly unusual, and not so slightly OCD. Has great comedic timing and an excellent pop/rock/folk voice. Mezzo-soprano, G3 - Eb5.

Becky/EnsembleBoth genders18-56 y.o.All ethnicities

Female identifying. Becky is the oldest of the three waitresses. She is irreverent, irascible, and has been there and made it back and somehow kept her wicked sense of humor with excellent comedic timing. Has a soulful pop voice with an excellent pop belt. Mezzo-soprano, Eb3 - Eb5.

Earl/EnsembleBoth genders18-56 y.o.All ethnicities

Male identifying. Jenna’s husband who peaked in high school. He’s handsome in a gruff way, but has a face clouded with broken dreams. Can explode into unexpected anger one second and then turn into a sobbing mess the next. Guitar playing is a plus. Bari-tenor, Eb3 - G4.

Male identifying. Strange, yet oddly lovable. Becomes slightly obsessed with Dawn (in a hilarious yet endearing way) after he goes on a 5-minute date with her. Quirky, incredibly persistent, and kind. Has excellent comedic timing and a pop/rock sound. Tenor, C3 - Bb4.

Joe/EnsembleBoth genders18-56 y.o.All ethnicities

Male identifying. The owner of the diner where Jenna, Dawn, Becky, and Cal work. A seemingly old, curmudgeonly man who has a soft spot for Jenna (and her pie). Warm at heart, he’s a sarcastically funny and no-nonsense guy with a keen ability to read people. Bari-tenor, B2 - G#4.

Cal/EnsembleBoth genders18-56 y.o.All ethnicities

Male identifying. A chef at the diner. A “Salt of the Earth” guy’s guy surrounded by gals. Brash, impatient, unsentimental, but somehow charming. Has a strong pop/rock voice with great comedic chops. Has a strong contemporary singing voice in the style of Sara Bareilles and have excellent comedic timing. Bari-tenor, B2 - G4.

Norma/Mother/Francine/EnsembleBoth genders18-56 y.o.All ethnicities

Female identifying. Doubles as several characters throughout the show including Dr. Pomatter’s nurse, Jenna’s mother, and Dr. Pomatter’s wife. Has excellent comedic timing and is able to navigate the musical style of Sara Bareilles with ease.
