"Into the Woods" Musical In Need Of Performers
Auditions for musical "Into the Woods". Seeking cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the breakdown below. About the project: James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece... and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. Additional info: There is no fee to participate. WHAT TO PREPARE Please prepare a brief song (1 min of less) in the style of the show. Make sure to bring clearly marked sheet music in a binder for accompanist. For those unable to attend in-person auditions, video auditions will be accepted: see the document attached. Callbacks: December 8 (by invitation) Rehearsals: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 5:30 pm-8:30 pm and Sundays between 10:00 am-4:00 pm beginning January 2 with limited rehearsals between Jan 2 and Jan 19. Not everyone will be called for every rehearsal and not everyone will be called for the full duration of each rehearsal. A lovable cow with great comedic timing. This actor will wear and operate a full body puppet and may potentially operate other puppets throughout the show. Experience in stage movement, puppetry and/or pantomime is a plus but not required.
