Both roles to be portrayed by the SAME performer. Tammy struggles with the push and pull of her cultural identity. The death of her grandmother brings out her inner fears and frustrations of alienation and forever losing her roots. Her lack of knowledge for her Japanese heritage shows how the effects of internment still ripple within her. Contrary to Tammy, her Doppelganger blends into society and goes unnoticed. She represents an alternate version of Tammy, someone who was born in her homeland.
