About the project: Richard O’Brien’s “The Rocky Horror Show” follows a young, engaged couple, Brad Majors and Janet Weiss, whose car breaks down during a storm. They seek help at the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank N. Furter, a flamboyant and eccentric scientist who reveals his latest creation, Rocky, a muscular man brought to life. Throughout the night, Brad and Janet encounter a variety of bizarre characters and experience a series of surreal, comical, and sexually charged events. The show is known for its blend of horror, science fiction, and musical elements, with themes of sexual liberation and self-discovery. Additional info: How to Prepare: The audition will take place in three parts: singing, dancing, and acting. Music: 30 seconds to 1 minute of a song. The song you select for your audition should reflect the style of the show (and character) you are auditioning for. They will have a speaker and a cord for you to use to plug in your device. Please ensure your track is loaded and ready to play when you enter the audition. Dance: The show calls for a variety of styles. Bring comfortable shoes to wear for the dance portion. If you own tap shoes or jazz shoes, please bring them to the audition. Acting: You will be asked to read from the script to display how you bring different characters to life.
