"Guys and Dolls" seeking cast. Please see the breakdown below. About the project: Plot: The heat is on in 1950s New York and everyone is looking for some action. And Nathan Detroit is one who provides all the action. Detroit runs a floating crap game that currently doesn’t have a home. He needs a thousand bucks to run the game. But he ain’t got a grand on hand. So Detroit makes a $1,000 bet with big time gambler Sky Masterson. The bet: Masterson has 24 hours to take a missionary girl to Havana. The music and comedy roll as fast as the dice in Guys & Dolls. Additional info: Audition details: Please come to auditions with a prepared song (32 bars) in the style of the show. Recommend Rat Pack, Ella Fitzgerald type songs. AN ACCOMPANIST WILL NOT BE PROVIDED. A BLUETOOTH SPEAKER WILL BE AVAILABLE. Please come in attire to dance. A dance break will be taught at auditions. A good-hearted gambler and craps game organizer who could never hit the bigtime. He loves Adelaide, but cannot quit his gambling ways. A broke schemer with unwitting ways. D3 to B4.
A pretty, bright-eyed woman who serves as Sergeant of the local Mission. Idealistic, sheltered, and straightlaced, she is passionate about her cause and wishes to convert the gambling sinners to saints. Falls unexpectedly in love with gambler Sky Masterson along the way. B3 to G5.
Nathan’s fiancé and a lead performer at the Hot Box nightclub. She loves Nathan more than anything in the world and desperately wants to get married. Pretty, outspoken, stubborn. A3 to E5.
Just like his name suggests, he is the nicest and cheeriest of the gambling crooks. High-spirited and a bit naïve, but sincere and genuine. Nathan’s loyal friend and lackey. D3 to B4.
Nathan’s right-hand man and a gambler himself. Smart, slick, always moving and shaking, but with what he thinks are Nathan’s best interest at heart. D3 to F4.
Sarah’s uncle who also works at the mission. A kind soul who sees the best in people. D3 to F4.
A hard boiled police officer who is putting the heat on Detroit and the crap game.
A crook and gambler. He is a tough guy with dollar signs as his bottom line. Brings Big Jule into Nathan’s craps game and backs his cheating, but is also a man of his word in the gambling community.
A big craps player from Chicago. Large and intimidating who’ll use a gun and loaded dice to get his way. A bit of an oaf.
In charge of the Save a Souls Missions and plans to shut down the New York branch if Sarah can’t get some sinners to convert. Sweet but hard.
