About the project: “Hypnos: Lullaby”, a new series pilot episode of a cop uncovering a sinister plot within a prison where "dreamers" are reclused and sanctioned as criminals. Rate: Non-Union. 270-300 CAD, approxim.$219.48 per day. Additional information: SHOOT/PERFORMANCE DATE(S) september 11-30 (tentative). SHOOT/PERFORMANCE LOCATION(S) Vancouver. Sarah is a tough police officer with a strong hatred towards criminals, she is anxious since she is pretty sure she has uncovered a sinister plot going on in her prison making herself the target of those working behind the curtain, regardless she can't stop, she needs to find the truth behind these "dreamers".
Silvia was a regular college student, until she started dreaming that is. She was arrested for arson while committing a strange ritual, now she is being processed. In the meanwhile, she is being studied trying to analyze the effects of dreaming upon her. As the days with this study pass by, the effects of these dreams start showing clear signs within her appearance and demeanor.
"What was that a dream?", imagine waking up one day after having a dream in a society where dreamers are prosecuted as criminals. Not strange enough? Well, imagine that to be your first day in a job that involves keeping those same dreamers in jail. That is Joseph's day as he gets involved in an intricate plot in which he ends up betting his life.
Officer Bowman is cocky, chilled, sarcastic, arrogant. His devious deals leave almost no strain in his sleep. His schemes have a wide range of perhaps unlawful activities. But, of course, he is a professional first, or that is what he thinks of himself while hoaxing his boss into giving him a "well-deserved" raise in his paycheck.
What do you do when a subordinate of yours gets out of line? You cut the crap of course and make him understand his position. But what if that pesky subordinate has devised a way in which you have your hands tied? You must surely get red as a tomato as all the contained anger is being sucked up.
ADDITIONAL CHARACTER. Useless, all of your subordinates are just useless. Leaving you with a huge pile of works that need to be taken care of, you don't have time to solve all their problems one by one.
ADDITIONAL CHARACTER. A psychiatrist evaluating a "dreamer" patient objectively. She video records her sessions with Silvia as a video-diary speaking directly to the camera.
