Mandarin-speaking. A prideful mom yet sometimes anxious and insecure. She comes from an upper-middle background and was once a piano prodigy herself with unfulfilled concert pianist dreams. After her husband lost all their money in poor investments, Mom now feels very lonely as her husband works all the time and turns to alcohol as a crutch.
(Boyfriend) To play 17. John is Wendy's boyfriend as well as her high school classmate. While John is athletic and gets high grades, John is also a stoner and dabbles in other drugs. John comes from a wealthy family. John wants to appear as a supportive and loving boyfriend but can't help but be a bit of a douchebag.
Mandarin-speaking. A caring friend of Mom's who has come by the house to drop off oranges for Mom and Wendy.
