ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Directors are looking for performers for "The Music Man" show. Please, see the details below. About the show: "The Music Man" follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall. Rate: NON-PAYING/NON-EQUITY. Additional information: Beginning September 5th; Tuesday and Thursday evenings (7 to 10 p.m.). Sunday afternoons (1 to 5 p.m.). Full Tech Day on Sunday, November 17th (10 a.m. to 10 p.m). Dress rehearsals Tuesday, November 19th, Wednesday, November 20th. Thursday, November 21st. YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL PERFORMANCES AND DRESS REHEARSALS. SOME EXCEPTIONS MAY BE MADE FOR MISSED REHEARSALS, BUT CONFLICTS MUST BE CONVEYED AHEAD OF TIME. Performance Dates: Friday, November 22nd, 2024 - 7:30 pm (Opening Night). Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 - 2 p.m.(matinee). Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 - 7:30 pm. Sunday, November 24th, 2024 - 2 pm (matinee). Thursday, November 29th, 2024 - 7:30 pm. Friday, November 30th, 2024 - 7:30 pm. Saturday, November 31st, 2024 - 2 p.m.(matinee). Saturday, November 31st, 2024 - 7:30 pm. Sunday, December 1st, 2024 - 2 pm (matinee). Performance Venue: Aurora, ON. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. A dance/movement audition will be required. Please come prepared with appropriate shoes. Please prepare 32 bars of a song from The Music Man or in a similar style to the show. Below are some options from The Music Man you may select from if you wish.
