"The Hunger Games: A Musical Parody" Needs Performers
Auditions for next production of "The Hunger Games: A Musical Parody". Seeking cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See the breakdown below. About the project: PLOT SUMMARY: The Hunger Games: A Musical Parody is an upbeat, light-hearted tale about a group of ragtag kids who band together to fight to their deaths. Featuring plenty of opportunities for improv and audience interaction, and set to iconic 2000s/2010's club music, the Hunger Games: A Musical Parody is wholesome fun for the whole family. *The show runs roughly 80-90min. Additional info: AUDITION MATERIALS: Please provide: A video of a 1:00-1:30 min. cut of a song of your choosing. The style of the show is club-pop, so think Lady Gaga, Kesha, Britney Spears, etc. However, you are welcome to send whatever you think showcases your unique vocal skills the best! If you are seeking a non-singing role, please send 1:00-1:30min comedic monologue of your choice instead of a song. If you can't think of/don't have a monologue, you are welcome to read a passage from one of the Hunger Games books with a comedic twist, or tell a funny story about an instance where you felt like it was life or death. *Unless explicitly stated, actors of any gender identity or racial identity can be considered for all roles. If there is ever a character archetype that you've wanted to play, or a certain character that you identify with, don't let anything stop you from applying for it. REHEARSALS: Rehearsals will begin at the beginning late January and take place 2-3 times a week depending on the availability of cast members until show week. SHOW WEEK TECH REHEARSALS will take place Monday March 4th-Thursday March 7th from 6pm-11pm. Performances: March 8th at 7pm and 10pm March 9th at 7pm. If you are interested, please apply.

(Mezzo-Soprano; Belter): The perfect dystopian-female protagonist. Self-deprecating and dry humor, the straight man surrounded by larger than life characters. Experienced actor and singer who is comfortable with long periods of stage time.
(Tenor): A kind-hearted boy whose entire purpose is being in love with Katniss. She does most of the work and he is entirely fine with that. Should be very likable with a boyish charm.
(Mezzo-Soprano/Soprano): A bubbly, over the top character who wears larger than life costumes. Spends a majority of the show acting as a guide/narrator for audience interaction. Strong improv skills are a must.
(Any Voice Type): A larger than live television personality. Spends a majority of the show acting as a narrator and leading audience interaction moments. Charismatic with strong improv skills.
(Baritone): Cato is the brutal leader of the career pack. He is having the time of his life in the Hunger Games. Strong dance experience is a plus.
(Spoken): The drunken mentor of the District 12 tributes. This role features plenty of opportunities for improv and audience interaction. Minimal singing, but lots of stand out comedic moments.
(Alto/Mezzo-Soprano): The "Little Girl" Track. The youngest person in the Games, Rue is Katniss' ally throughout the first part of the show. The actress will also play Katniss' younger sister Prim in the first scene of the show, and various track roles after Rue's death.
(Baritone): Cinna is the stylist of Katniss and Peeta when they arrive at the Capitol for the games. Down to earth and caring. Directors are seeking a strong Pop-Singer. The performer will also play the role of Thresh in the games, and various pop up characters during the show.
(Mezzo-Soprano): A brutal girl who is having the time of her life fighting children to the death. This will be a track role with various bit parts as needed throughout the show. Strong dance skills are a plus.
(Tenor): A brutal, spear throwing, member of the career pack. Enjoys the games a bit too much. Dance and lifting skills are a plus.
(Mezzo-Soprano): A beautiful girl in the career pack who has Cato wrapped around her finger. Not too skilled with a bow and arrow, but she has a plan, don't worry. Strong dance skills are a plus.
(Any): A quiet and calculated presence throughout the games. Seeking an actor who has strong physical acting and dance skills.
(Any vocal ranges): 2-4 performers with strong comedic timing to play several roles scattered throughout the show.
