Vanessa is a Chinese immigrant living in North Carolina, running a farm left by her dead husband. She feels trapped in this life (taking care of her farm and her son). She’s depressed and broken. Her internal struggle manifests itself in the form of a “FOX” (segmented character) who tries to charm her through spectral visions. -Chinese presenting. -Fluent in Mandarin. -Proficient English (broken English is good). -Active lifestyle. -Weathered look is good.

Jay is the 25-year-old son of Vanessa, a middle-aged Chinese immigrant to the American South. Jay grew up on a farm run by his mother and lived the trauma of losing his father at a young age. He is strong-willed and firm in supporting his mother even if she doesn't reciprocate his care. -Proficient/Broken Mandarin Required. -Fluent English. -Fit/athletic build. -Drivers license required, experience on atv’s (4 wheelers) is excellent.

The Fox is a maleficent spectral being taking the form of Vanessa’s late husband. He meets in secret through a series of visions trying to manipulate her into taking certain actions. He’s charming and witty, cunning like a fox. -Mandarin a plus but not required -Fit/athletic build -“Model look” handsome, charming, “angelic”.
