The company is holding auditions for "Arsenic & Old Lace" this Fall! and looking for actors, please see the details below About the project: This classic drama is full of zany antics, murderous plots, and eccentric family members. Throw in two sweet old aunts who have a nasty habit of poisoning lonely old men, and murder turns into fantastic comedy Additional info: Callbacks will be Monday, June 12, at 7:00 PM at the same location. Auditions will consist of readings from the script as well as sides. All roles are available. Bring a headshot with your resume (if available) and a list of your conflicts for the rehearsal dates. No conflicts are allowed for the week before tech through the run of the show (Sept 11-Sept 21). Please be aware that conflicts may affect casting. (plays 50-70) Leading role. Older sister of Martha. Aunt to Teddy, Jonathan, and Mortimer. A darling lady, and the very model of Victorian charm and grace who poisons elderly gentlemen with her sister as an act of charity. Appears to be the absolute embodiment of the values and polite society of a bygone age. More dominant, and a bit older than Martha. Happy, healthy, lucid, and spry. Some PHYSICAL work
(plays 50-70) Leading role. Younger sister of Abby. Aunt to Teddy, Jonathan, and Mortimer. Very sweet, but more submissive than Abby, Martha still is a strong woman. Like Abby, she exhibits Victorian values and manners. Some PHYSICAL work.
(plays 30-40) Leading role. Nephew of Abby and Martha. Brother to Teddy and Jonathan Brewster. Very likable, Mortimer is a drama critic who is in love with Elaine Harper. A good-hearted cynic who has his world turned upside down when he discovers his aunt’s misdeeds. A very PHYSICAL ROLE requiring a great deal of energy, timing, and physical comedy.
(plays 40-60) Supporting lead role. Nephew of Abby and Martha. Brother to Teddy and Mortimer. A creepy psychopath who has numerous murders to his credit and no scruples whatsoever. A cunning killer who loves his business. Some PHYSICAL work.
