"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" Synopsis: One of the most enduring shows of all time, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a reimagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, his father Jacob, eleven brothers and the coat of many colors. This is a co-production between the Grand Opera House and Rising Star Theatre Company. Told entirely through song, the musical follows Joseph as he faces adversity and ultimately triumphs when he is reunited with his family. Filled with great music, laughter, joy, and heart this sparkling show is sure to leave audiences wanting more! 2. "Into the Woods" Synopsis: James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone’s favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece… and a rare modern classic. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. Additional info: See the attachment for more info. -Come dressed to move. Prepare a 1 min cut (approximately 32 bars) of a musical theater song in the style of either show. Please bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided. -"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat": Performances: June 9, 10, 15, 16, 17 – 7:30pm, June 11 and 18 – 2 pm. Full Company rehearsals will begin May 8. Rehearsals will typically run between 6-9 pm Mon. – Fri. Dress/Technical/Brush-Up Rehearsals June 1-7 and 14. Availability for dress/technical rehearsals and all performances is mandatory. -"Into the Woods": Performances/; July 14, 15, 20, 21, 22 – 7:30pm, July 16 and 23 – 2 pm.
