About the project: Synopsis: When literary editor Alice Murphy meets a young soldier just home from World War II, he awakens her longing for the child she once lost. Haunted by their unique connection, Alice sets out on a journey to understand her past—and what she finds has the power to transform both of their lives. With beautiful melodies and powerfully moving characters, the story unfolds as a rich tapestry of deep emotion. An uplifting theatrical journey that holds you tightly in its grasp, BRIGHT STAR is as refreshingly genuine as it is daringly hopeful. Additional info: Show dates: August 11 - 26. Please have prepared 1 minute of a song to sing in the styles of the show (bluegrass or gospel). Please have a bluetooth device (phone, tablet, etc) to connect to speaker and play the music for your song. Sheet music of the song is acceptable. An accompanist will be provided. 4 female and 6 male principal roles. Ensemble size 15 characters. Opportunities for featured casting in the ensemble. Ability to play keyboard or stringed instrument a plus.
