The "Passing Strange" Play Needs Performers

About the project: The plot itself involves an anonymous protagonist, called the Youth, who travels on a picaresque journey to find "the real", complicated by his need to rebel against his mother and society, "passing" through place to place and from lover to lover. His experiences are shaped by his black, American, and middle-class identity. As a musician, he attempts to express his true self through a number of musical genres, including gospel, punk, blues, jazz, and rock; however, the musical itself is most prominently grounded in rock music. Rate: $350.00 – $800.00 per week. Additional info: Deadline: DECEMBER 4, 2022. Your Video must include: 1. SLATE: your name, the part for which you are auditioning, and the songs you are singing; PLUS. 2. You will need TWO contrasting 32 bar cuts of a song in the style of the show or from Passing Strange. Please use an accompanist or a backing track. CALLBACKS: on December 16 & 17. Please also have your head-shot and resume ready to attach to this form.
