6 role s

Simon BashBoth genders40-49 y.o.All ethnicities

Male Presenting. Vocal Range: HIGH male rock tenor. E3-D5 (Yes—D5!). Big rock icon vibes, vocally and physically. Strong comedic chops. Simon’s been one of the hottest rock icons in America for the past decade but he’s at a crossroads. He’s battling bad publicity, suffering a herculean writer’s block, and needs to find inspiration fast. Right now, he just needs some downtime to clear his head. He ain’t gonna find it on Lake Avenue!

Val DavisBoth genders40-49 y.o.All ethnicities

Female Presenting. Vocal Range: Mezzo. Strong rock voice. A3-E5. Big voice. Can be both confident and insecure. Val helps Bruce at the pet store. With both kids about to graduate, she worries what chapter two of married life with Bruce is going to be. She feels invisible to her husband and longs for the intimacy their marriage once had.

Bruce DavisBoth genders40-49 y.o.All ethnicities

Male Presenting. Vocal Range: Tenor. Strong rock voice. Eb3-Ab4. Comedic role. Good at playing awkward and flummoxed. Bruce is the owner of a small pet store in danger of being driven out of business by a national chain. In his efforts to stay above water, he often forgets the wife and kids he’s doing all this for. Bruce is eager for his 18-year-old son to work full-time at the store as he did with his father 30 years ago, but he’s beginning to fear his son may have other plans.

Jan (Jan-ma) RandallBoth genders60-69 y.o.All ethnicities

Female Presenting. Vocal Range: Mezzo. Rock singer with strong lower range. B3-E5. Big Voice. Funny and energetic with dramatic chops. Jan is a cancer survivor with a lot of life left in her and very few “efs” to give. Jan’s brush with mortality has taught her that every day counts.

Steph RandallBoth genders36-39 y.o.All ethnicities

Female Presenting. Vocal Range: Soprano. Strong rock belter. A3-E5. Big Voice. Less comedic than dramatic role. Comfortable air guitarist and if you can really play the guitar, even better. But single motherhood put that career on hold, and then helping her mother through cancer ended her dreams entirely. She has found fulfillment as a music teacher but now faces another roadblock.

Charlie BlaneyBoth genders36-39 y.o.All ethnicities

Male Presenting. Vocal Range: Tenor. Strong rock voice. G2-G4. More dramatic than comedic role. Six months ago, Charlie’s world came crashing down when his wife’s social drug habit ended her career and rocked their marriage. Think again, Charlie. Seeking a black performer for this role.
