All roles are profit-share (ticket sales). Additional information: Performances will take place early or mid-March (exact dates based on cast availability). Rehearsals: between late January to early March, exact times based on cast availability. Location: Toronto. Auditions are on a rolling basis. Non-binary, queer, and introspective, ETHAN searches for belonging in a Ukrainian–Jewish identity they feel both connected to and distanced from. They struggle with depression, inherited trauma, and the pressure to feel “authentically” anything. Their journey is one of reconciling fragmented histories with their present self.
ETHAN’s grandfather. Once an engineer in the Soviet military, EFIM carries the weight of discrimination faced as a Jewish man in Ukraine. Stoic and disciplined, he expresses love through work, survival, and quiet endurance rather than words, which impact—and can sometimes distance—his relationship with ETHAN.
